sofiatabouche wants to explore textile in different forms, searching and collecting different memories, influences and personal experiences throughout the collections. The brand creates clothes for everyday life, wearable garments that are comfortable to be in, but especially, to feel like your own self. We work with upcycled textiles, such as dead stock, vintage pieces or materials.  We reuse and repurpose as much as possible, we care for the environment, human animals and non-human animals that inhabit our planet. We create based on the principals of cruelty free and eco-friendly materials. 

 

Our goals with sofiatabouche: 

• Minimize as much waste as possible, repurposing dead stock textiles, pieces and other materials. 
• Limited editions to create long lasting ready to wear pieces to make you feel unique and comfortable with yourself.

• Practice slow fashion, where each piece is created thoughtfully, with love and respect.
• Use organic and natural materials as much as possible, to continue the preservation of Mother Nature and non-human animals.  

 

The sofiatabouche logo is inspired in pre-Columbian art, mostly on small ceramic figures. These figures were often used as domestic elements or funerary ornaments, sometimes accompanying the defunct, as an amulet to help the dead pass onto the after life. The small ceramics portrayed images of the female body, emphasizing certain parts of the body, such as the hips, the thighs, the breasts and the belly.

 

For sofiatabouche they symbolize strength and beauty. An ode to the female body, accepting it how it is, in its many shapes and sizes. These women, guerreras, as sofiatabouche calls them, represent the strong and independent force of the feminine. They are independent, beautiful creatures who accomplish their dreams, love themselves and respect each other.
